Last night I was watching Mtv at like 2am and caught this inspiring, uplifting rap song. Naturally I was dumbfounded when I discovered that the “fo shizzle ma zizle’s” and “fo sheezy my neezy’s” were replaced by elementary aged kids singing “I know I can, be what I want to be. If I work hard at it, I’ll be where I want to be.” So here’s the kicker … the song is by Nas!? Talk about sabotaging your own career.

A much better colaboration than children and Nas is the teaming of Snoop and that dude from the Neptunes. The video is aptly named “Beautiful” with the Brazillian backdrop. I think it also wins my award for “hottest non-nasty video girls” this month.

Speaking of beautiful girls … how amazing are the chicks in Sean Paul’s “Get Busy”? They’re not so much hot as they are amazing dancers. When you think about it, there aren’t that many good girl dancers in videos. (Dancing being defined as “finding a rythem and moving to it” as opposed to “rubbing your ass against whomever is singing”.)

Aside from the dancing chicks, Sean Paul’s “Get Busy” and Wayne Wonder’s “No Letting Go” are both awesome songs. Since they are both based on the Diwali Riddim, the sound alike, but I think “No Letting Go” is my favorite of the two. That or else I’ve listened to “Get Busy” so many times that it’s getting old.

And last but not least there’s R Kelly. While I’ve never liked any of his songs, the “Ignition” remix really has some bounce to it (or is it bump?). I was surprised to even hear it cause I figured he’d be locked up by now.
