I feel bored lately. I want to start a new webproject, but I have no idea what to do. An hour later and I don’t think I want to be a Brittany Spears wannabe anymore … so much for the gurl page. Anyideas for my next project?

You know, there will always be a part of me that wishes I could be a 17 year old flaky high school girl. Now that I’m being excluded from the bloggirls webring just because of my sex, I will transform myself into the incognitoblogger to infiltrate the inner workings of this frivolous webring. It’s gonna belike JoanLondon on crack.

Today marks a sad day in education that will mar websites for at least a generation. No less than 45 Penn State students new to web design were taught how to use the <blink> tag today. What is beyond me is that a "professional" can condone, let alone advocate the use of <blink>. I’m not even going to mention that it’s not supported by IE. In my opinion, it tops the list with <marquee> as the most annoying HTML tag ever. <blink> is the dreg of the HTML society. Its use is considered a crime among web developers yet somehow it proliferates. My one candle wish is that <blink>’s fade into obsolescence does not obscure it’s infamy.

In efforts to not lead a completely sedentary life, I’ve signed up for the 100 Mile Club. The goal: to run 100 miles in the course of a semester. So far, 17 down, 83 to go. After I’ve become a seasoned veteran of the 100 Mile Club, my next goal will be the Mile High Club :-)

Duh

A few more for the “note to self” list …
4. If you are driving down the street and you notice that cars are narrowly missingyou at intersections and you can’t seem to find the traffic lights or stop signs atthose intersections, you are probably driving down a one way street.
5. Even if you’re in a hurry, don’t set your SCUBA gear down on your bed; becausewhen you get home later that night you will have to sleep in a wet bed.
6. If you agree again to go on an “easy” 6 mile run after the first one nearlykilled you, you are a fool. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me:-)

I don’t want to get into the plane crashes cause I’m sick and tired of arguments that have zero critical thought put into them. Knee jerk reactions that don’t even consider the ramifications or implications of the actions aren’t valid to me. So, I’ll just leave you with a thought … Gandhi once said, “An eye for an eye and the whole world will be blind.”

My VB and Website class are killing me. I feel like I’m in first grade again. To give you an idea of this absurdity, let me give you an example. Today in class, my instructor’s solution to hiding a table’s border was to highlight each individual cell (in a WYSISYG editor) and set the border color to the same as the background color. Is that not stupid!? I can understand not knowing everything about web design, but when you start disseminating misinformation, it irritates me. Next time just try adding BORDER=”0″ to your code. Never ever set a table’s border to the same color of the background just to hide it.

Update:
I nearly choked when I viewed the source to my instructor’s webpage for her website design and implementation class. What makes it even funnier is that Dreamweaver has a command to “Clean up Word HTML …” To each his own I guess
<meta name=ProgId content=Word.Document>
<meta name=Generator content=”Microsoft Word 10″>
<meta name=Originator content=”Microsoft Word 10″>

look around for it tomorrow, I have a feeling that I’m going to program my own “moodindicator” rather than use imood’s crappy branded cgi stuff
