Hey everybody, I’m back to school. I really don’t have anything interesting to relate other than the fact that they almost didn’t let me in. Stupid me didn’t even bother to check when arrival day was for returning students and I showed up on freshman day. Everything’s good though cause my roomate kevin (the track superstar) was already here. And, if I didn’t come today, I wouldn’t have gotten to meet Andrea, my new best friend :-)

Hey, we’re back up and running after two depriving days of missing project futility’s enlightenment. Everyone can now sleep soundly at night.

B, I just thought I’d post some words of wisdom for you from AfroMan himself. I’m sure you can relate with the pressures of grad school and work.

I was gonna go to class before I got high
I coulda cheated and I coulda passed but I got high
I am taking it next semester and I know why
- cause I got high (repeat 3X)

I was gonna go to work but then I got high
I just got a new promotion but I got high
now I’m selling dope and I know why
- cause I got high (repeat 3X)

David. I found something that may be of interest to you … or your employers. Web Usability Guru™ Jakob Neilsen wrote thisarticle about how a poorly designed Intranet can cost companies millions of dollars. He clams that Intranets are under-funded and that there is a 10-to-3 payoff when redesigninga failing Intranet (ie: spend 3K and save 10k) So rest assured that David “I’m colorscheme disabled” Flannery alone has the power to confuse users, kill productivity, and put me out of a job. It’s a terrifying thought knowing that the man who roamsthe office halls muttering “R2, R2, must empower R2″ holds your job security in hishands.

So what is up with caching!? I swear I’ve added every single lick of VBScript that I can think of to turn off browser caching, but when I update a page I still see the same old crap on some of them. It’s to the point now where I’m considering dumping all my content into a database so that the site will be guaranteed dynamic. If you really care as much as I do about this, be a pal and refresh.

Is there a site redesign coming up? Maybe. For some reason I’m just unhappy with this one … or bored. Ithink with the next one I’m gonna go totally css and totally font size 1. Too small? Now all I have to do is resist working on it till I get back to school. If I startnow, there’s no way I’ll be able to get everything done in time.

So I was thinkingtoday … are the expressions “milk it for all it’s worth” and “cash cow“related? In theory, you would want to milk a cash cow for all it’s worth, right? SoI’ve decided that yes, the two terms are derivative of one another. Chalk anothercunning … er … stunning discovery up to me. :-)

   A few thingsfrom yesterday
1. I was watching the Guniess book of world records show last night and this guy wason that could take off bottle caps with his teeth. I was like “wait a second! I dothat!” If this chump can set a world record just prying caps off of bottlesso can I damnit. So this dude manages to uncap 50 bottles in a minute. The whole timeI’m thinking that I cant wait to beat this guy and tell my grandkids that I was inthe guiness book of world records. After that I kinda changed my mind when he wasliterally drooling blood all over himself. I guess when my friends tell me not totake off bottle caps with my teeth they’re saying it for a reason.
2. Darn I forget what number 2 was gonna be.
3. Chemistry -Thursday night. I never knew they housed a sausage factory and a club in the samebuilding. I should have stuck with underage night.

A contradiction in termsSo,um, is there a help for when help doesn’t work? I find it ironic that there’s a “Help”button on the same dialog box that tells you that it can’t display help. At leastthey could have had a little fun with it. If I were the programmer, the MsgBox wouldread “Dude, you’re SOL” (which I am I guess)

don’t you hate that feeling when you’ve been out in the cold for a long time and your hands are so cold and numb that you can hardly move your fingers, let alone do anything functional with them? Well yeah, that’s me right now. It’s the hottest day of the summer and I’m wearing long sleeves and a sweatshirt just to keep hypothermia at bay. With the little amount of warmth it provides, the grill of my monitor is the only thing that is keeping my fingers from freezing and breaking off. You’d think that I could hold a warm cup of coffee or something to fend off the imminent tundra, but it turns into iced coffeewithin half a minute. I long for the days were I used to sit on the roof and havemy shoes literally melt into the asphalt shingles. Now that was a good time …

Hey, the new beta forum is now up and running. Find it here.Right now it’s pretty basic, but hopefully working. I couldn’t wait any longer causethat old forum seemed to get a new popup like everyday.

Oh, and if anyone from work is on my website looking for me and wondering why I’m not at work right now, it’s probably because I’m broked on the side of the road. My dash currently has more lights flashing now than I ever knew I had. Not only do I have “low coolant,” buy apparently my oil is low too. I tried adding honey to the engine like flannery advised, but I don’t think that’s exactly what he meant by “motor honey.” In addition to my ride lacking vital juices, it seems that the brakes are on vacation. Not really a surprise though with the way I drive, I think I’d quit too. So the moral of this story is that if you see a white lumina barreling towards you while stopped at a traffic light or something, get out of way cause my car weighs more than yours. The tank will roll you over. Anyway, It looks like that 3000GT may be closer than I expected. The tough part will be craming all my junk in the trunk to get it to school next semester. Mmm, on a side note …. AAF - Smooth Criminal is on MTV2 right now, what a kickass song. Thanks keri :-) I wonder what Michael thinks of it.

Nelly Furtado ... or Kendra Navarro?Sohow great was Chemistry?Really great! I saw nelly furtado’s latest video tonight on MTV2, and I thought tomyself “wow, she looks really familiar.” Then I realized that she looked justlike this girl Kendra that me and B played pool against at Chemisty. So yeah, it wasexciting for me. I still can’t figure out why she goes to Temple though and livesin LA. Anyway, she was hot, and that was probably also the reason why she kept walkingaway from me mid sentence. And just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better,I got to spend the rest of it dancin with Julie and Ellen. Two really fun girls ;-)

I couldn't think of any alt text while writing this ... you get the picture, 7 users, blah blah blah Heylook! An all time high. 7 users at once. I don’t think I even know of 7 people thatvisit the site all day. Maybe I got hit by a search engine and all those BackstreetBoys meta tags are paying off. Either way, I hope my webhost doesn’tstart charging me for the excessive volume of traffic to my site. Then again, maybeall that traffic is just the CODERED WORM.
