Here’s what makes me angry. Residents in 3 Florida counties get 3 shots to have their vote counted. Granted, sometimes hand recounts are needed if the vote is close. The recount in these 3 counties IS NOT NEEDED. There is no evidence to say that the vote was too close in those counties … they were hand picked by Gore as being the most Democratic counties in the state. What makes me even more angry is that Republican Beverly Green was denied by Carol Roberts and her Democratic board in Palm Beach County a hand recount only a few weeks ago. The board said the vote “wasn’t close enough to warrant a hand recount.” And guess how many votes she lost by … 14 VOTES! 14 Fing VOTES. And she doesn’t get a hand recount, but Gore does? Statistics show that if you hand recount votes in a highly Democratic county, the Democratic candidate will gain some votes. So where does fair play come into this situation? If they get their 3 favorite counties recounted, why don’t the Republicans get theirs? Heck, why don’t I have the chance to have my vote recounted? The Democrats have been preaching “determine the will of the people.” Well what about all the other counties in Florida that don’t get their will determined? All this hand recounting is doing is screwing over the Democratic system. Hand recounting is biased. It’s up to a human to decide if the vote counts or not. I say go with the voting machine. Granted, it may only have 99.9% accuracy, but it’s not biased. Secondly, this hand recounting fiasco is sending the issue to the courts. Do you want the courts deciding who your president will be, or do you want to do it? I sure don’t want a 6 Democrat, 1 Independent court deciding who’s going to win this election. Lastly, hand counting leaves the door wide open to fraud. We have stories of a Democratic man found with a ballot box in the back seat of his car. We have evidence of 100’s of chads fallen off of ballots. We have sworn affidavits of Carol Roberts putting “undecided” ballots into Gore’s stack of ballots. I just fail to see the fairness of it all. The will of the people is not being delivered. What is being delivered is a degradation of our democracy. And it has to stop. No more last ditch efforts. Take it like a man Gore, and stop being a sore loser.

After a 10 year precedent Palm Beach county today changed the way they handcount votes. In this Democratic run county heavilly favoring Democrats, they decidedto count cards that are only dimpled … not even one corner punched. The questionis why now? Why do they change the way things are done when they’ve been doing itone way for 10 years? Seems to me like someone is trying to throw an election.

Can you believe that the Democrats hiredtelemarketers on election night to call Democratic voters and tell them that theirvote may have been wrong? And if they hadn’t voted, they were told to go out and votefor Gore. Anything to throw public opinion i guess.

You people are stupid. The butterfly ballots workfine in other counties all across the country. Granted, the ballot may be a littleconfusing, but take a minute to read it and FOLLOW THE ARROWS and you’ll be fine.What is so hard about that? Stop crying.

Voterfraud, again! Not surprising.

I am so irate over what the Democrats are doing to this country. They are showing blatant ignorance to the facts of the matter and in the process threatening our democracy. There are many voter “irregularities” in every election. Dare we search out every butterfly ballot and bring them into question too? The Democrats whine about 19,000 voided votes, but hush the fact that there were 15,000 last election in that county and this year there was a much greater voter turnout. They say that Buchanan could have never gotten that many votes, but ignore the fact that Independent voter registration in Palm Beach County has risen over 110% since 96. I agree that there may be some confusions, but there will be in all states. They all equal each other out in the end. This ballot in question was designed and approved by Democrats. It was published long before the election and not a single complaint turned up. I’m sorry, but you can’t go changing the rules after the game is over. I wonder what ever happened to honor in this country. When Nixon was faced with voter fraud (people voting twice, dead people voting) he stepped down for the sake of the country. And this was in the case of fraud! A confusing ballot is hardly fraud. I beg you to see past the Democrats’ partisan politics and just note the facts. I wish in this election I saw some class from the Democrats. Gore said that once the recount is done, and if he is still the loser, he will concede defeat. Now Bill Daley is assuring us that they will bring this to the courts. And to what end? A hand count? A re-vote? What is this doing to our country? Not only is our democracy taken away from us when the courts choose the President, but it is setting a dangerous precedent. How can Gore let his party head down this road? Even before the recount is finished, over 60 Democratic lawyers are canvassing Florida looking for voters claming to have encountered “irregularities”. How do you know if you voted for the wrong person? And if you did, why didn’t you say something at the polling place? They would have gladly given you another ballot. It seems to me that bringing all this up only after Gore lost the state of Florida is a self serving way to fraud the election process. Just because you are a sore loser does not mean that you have to right to threaten my democracy.
